Position: Product Manager
Reporting to: Director, Product Marketing
Summary
The Product Manager is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.
Qualifications and Experience
The Product Manager is expected to:
- Create and manage global pricing strategies for platforms, accessories, and services
- Develop marketing mix recommendations
- Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products
- Consult with product development personnel on the creation of product MRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
- Be an expert with respect to the competition
- Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and channel managers.
- Consult with buying personnel to balance supply chain against market demand
- Develop product briefs and presentations that support the creation of sales tools and collateral
- Brief and train the sales force as needed
- Act as a product advocate within the company and represent marketing on core teams
Required experience and knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in a job in the technology market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Must be able to travel 25% of the time
