Tip and Trick answer: Using an external projector or monitor

You can set up an external VGA data projector to work with the Motion Tablet PC and hardtop keyboard. Please note: These instructions have only been tested with the M1300.

    1. Setup the tablet on the Hardtop Keyboard in portrait or secondary landscape (ports facing up).
      • You will need to use the USB extender cable for this setup.

    2. Rotate the tablet's display to reflect the above orientation.
      • Set the display to 90 ° , 180 ° , or 270 ° to match the physical orientation.

    3. Connect the data projector to the VGA port.

    4. Extend the tablet's “desktop” display to include the external data projector display

    5. For Word, Excel, and most applications, simply drag the application window to the extended data projector screen.
      • You must use a mouse pointing device and keyboard to operate in this mode.
      • The pen/stylus will not work on the extended mode.
      • Remember to move the application window back to your tablet's desktop display prior to disconnecting the external data projector.

    6. For PowerPoint only, set the display location for “Slide Show” to the external display.
      • PowerPoint will allow you to keep the main program application window on the tablet display or move it to the external display.
      • Leaving the main PowerPoint application window on the tablet display allows you to see your notes while the audience only sees the presentation.

    7. Remember to drag any windows from the external display BACK to the tablet display before disconnecting. If you forget, disable the external display in the Windows XP Display Properties or Dashboard application.
